Bon Jovi
I'm sure just about everybody is familiar with - what is in my opion - the greatest band of all time: Bon Jovi! You may recognize them from all-time classics like "Always" & "Livin' on a Prayer", or perhaps from more recent songs like "It's my Life". This site is dedicated to this 4 men, and their music.

History, how Jon, Richie, Dave, Tico, & former bass player Alec John Such hook up
Jon Bon Jovi was in fact born plain John Bongiovi Jnr. on March 2, 1962 in New Jersey. Since High School, he has been in several bands, but they never quitte managed to break out of the local scene. These bands were: Starz, that became Raze, then he formed a band called Atlantic City Expressway. ACE saw John hook up for the first time with talented keyboards player David Bryan Rashbaum. Then John became frontman of the band The Rest, but that didn't work out either. In September 1980, John took up an offer of a low-paid job at the Power Station Studios as a goofer. Whenever there was spare-time in the studios, John was in the studio working away at his own imaginary album. By Christmas 1982, a tape labelled 'Johnny B.', among other songs a catchty little number called "Runaway", began to circulate New York. This is how it started.

A showcase gig ws set up for John and his occasional backing band of friens and fellow gofers, now called 'The Wild Ones', also futuring David Bryan and future Skid Row guitarist Dave 'Snake' Sabo. This big "breakthrough" proved a disaster, nearly finishing off his chances of stardom before he even got a record out. Incredibly, though, a stroke of luck would finally put John, and David, back on the rails. PowerStation assistant engineer Ray Willhard entered the 'Wild Ones' version of "Runaway" in a locally-run talent contest. The track won a regional heat of the contest, and ended up on a compilation album. That did the trick. By early 1983, two major labels, Atlantic and PolyGram, were competing for John's signature. And on July 1st, 1983, PolyGram landed their man. It was at that point that John became Jon, and he was concentrating on putting together a permanent band line-up. 'Bongiovi could look confusing on a record sleeve or poster; an Americanised 'BON JOVI' was deemed far more fan-friendly. David Rashbaum returned, followed swiftly by drummer Tico Torres, bassist Alec John Such and guitarist Richie Sambora. "It was just one of those fated things," Richie would recall years later. "The first time i met Jon, it was just after he'd finished playing this little club date, and I just walked up to him and told him right out - 'You need me. You're the best frontman I've seen in years and, baby, I'm the best new guitar player there's been for years. We oughta get together." In 1994 Alec John Such left the band. And since then Hugh McDonald has helped the band out many, many times. He is not IN the band, but he's there on-stage, and also works with them on albums etc. 'Till now Bon Jovi have brought out nine albums: BON JOVI, 7800 Fahrenheit, Slippery When Wet, New Jersey, Keep the Faith, Cross Road, These Days, Crush, and live-album One Wild Night. The new album Bounce will be in stores internationally at sept. 23th, US & Canada oct. 8th. And the Japanese leg of the tour that comes whit the album, has already begunn.
